CREW

Thanks for your interest in being part of the MEGACON Orlando Crew!

Starting in 2017, we moved to a model where Crew are paid to be part of our team, and we will continue this in 2019. Yes,
it’s true, you can get paid to work at MEGACON Orlando!

Our staffing agency partner is HES Staff. They will manage all the nitty gritty of payroll forms and scheduling. HES’s website is now open to take your application.

As always, we have lots of fun together at the show. You’ll be wearing our shirts, working with our Leads and Show Management, and sharing the fandom with more than 100,000 attendees.

FAQS

What if I can only work one shift?

Please let HES Staff know this when you complete your information form. Naturally the more shifts you do, the more on-the-job knowledge you gain, so we love it when you can work for more than one day. People who can work more than one day will be given priority.

Crew Expectations:

As a paid Crew member, you are responsible for your own transportation, parking, accommodation, and food. You’ll receive a MEGACON Orlando show shirt – please let us know your size when you apply. If your shift ends early the day you are scheduled, then you can attend the con for the remainder of that day.

Can I work in a specific area at the show?

As a paid Crew member, we will try to place you where you’ve got prior experience – be sure to tell HES if you’ve worked in a certain area before. However, in this paid role we may need to move Crew members around to different areas of the show based on where it’s busy or slower. We require flexibility in this regard. No one on Crew “owns” a certain position or placement at the show. Requesting to be placed with a specific Celebrity Guest tends to make our fanboy/fangirl radar go off and can ultimately influence decisions on where you are scheduled.

Can I work with my friend?

Make this request directly to HES Staff because they are responsible for scheduling.

My personal situation doesn’t allow me to participate in paid employment. How can I get involved?

Please connect with HES Staff to discuss your specific situation. They may have a solution for you.

NEXT STEPS

  1. Visit HES Staff’s website to fill out their online information form. If you’ve been on the MEGACON crew in Tampa or Orlando in the past, be sure to let them know what role you did previously. HES Staff will be responsible for communicating with all Crew members. When you apply, they’ll confirm they’ve received your info, and then you can expect to hear from them approximately 3 weeks out from the show to advise if your application has been approved. Finally, you’ll get your specific shift assignments (days, times) no later than 7 days out from the show.

  2. We are not having a sit-down general orientation the night before the show. You will be sent written info in advance of the show. When you arrive at the show, you’ll check in with the HES Supervisors at Crew HQ to receive instructions that are specific to your assignment at the show.

For more information and all inquiries, please connect with HES Staff.
